I am a child of the universe
I am a part of you and you are a part of me
We are within the circle of peace
Sit in an upright position
Relax your eyelids mouth, and chin
calm your breathing
Free from the bonds of self, from suffering
I am free...
Free to worship where there are no statues
or beautiful tapestries
No marble statues or statues of small children
In partial robes, no altars, no candlesticks.
No minister or priest...
There is only me and God alone
Above me stars, God's voice singing in the wind
His love blessed me with every breath I take
Up above me a lonely eagle soars
Hours fly like seconds
Toward dawn when I return to reality
I fill my lungs with the perfume of the sea
And tuck within my soul a tiny sliver of
the perfection of this place
Sustenance to last through endless days
When peace can be hard to find
And realize I have been blessed.
I am free with the universe
I am part of you and you are a part of me
We are entwined
Mama sent me this poem via text message
to post for her, I'm so glad to see her words again.
She is still on ventilator but is able for now to
communicate through text messaging. (TinyTeddy)
