Ever So Softly In The Winter Of My Night

A glass of Peppermint Scnhops that I have poured for myself sits on the table along side our bed awaiting my lips to touch the rim of the crystal glass, and all the while I will be wishing that it were your lips that mine were touching, as you eagerly await my entry under the covers to be with you. The stars lack luster tonight as I take one more glance out the window I wonder if wherever you are tonight they are shinning brightly. Wrapping myself in the warmth of thoughts, and memories once shared with you I reach for the glass, and take that sip, and in the Winter of my night I cry, then smile because I was once lucky enough to share your love.
