Good Morning Lord

Good Morning Lord
Thank you for giving me a restful night, and as I awaken to another day of life I thank you yet again for the day before me. Today especially (being the last day of this year) I would like to give you praise for all the wonderful gifts of life you have given to me. The beauty of family and friends, the joys of being a grandmother, and now a great grandmother, the ever mindful peace of having shelter and food to maintain me through the Winter chill. For my country, and our President, and even though I may not agree to all he is doing Lord I know that many prayers guide him into his decision making. I pray for our troops who battle to keep me and mine safe, and pray that promises made will be promises kept bringing them all safely home this upcoming year. Today the fact that time is growing short as my dad turns 92 instills in me how very precious life is, as he rejoices to each new days arrival. And gets excited over the simplest things like the deer standing in his front yard. I smile as I look over at our pets who have given me so much happiness, and for them I thank you as well for the little squirrels who come to feed daily just outside our garden window. As I humble myself before your throne Lord in my time of prayer my open window to you in communication from my mind and heart I thank you for the means to purchase what is necessary, and for helping me make the choice of what is not needed to sustain me. I pray for your forgiveness when I seemingly falter and thank you for still loving me unconditionally. It is by your grace that I can enjoy the birth of Spring, feel the warmth of Summer, See the vibrant colors of Autumn, and feel snowflakes upon my tongue in Winter. For this as for so many things not even mentioned I THANK YOU. Amen
