Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Empty Dreams
Twilight skies
melt to rolling green.
Watching myself
through this dream spun screen.

Walking along
this yellow brick road
in search of a story
that isn't told.

I search every crack,
flip every stone.
A gasp, a sigh,
a disappointed groan.

There are pretty young women,
prince charmings, and dreams.
The dress, the dance,
the wedding rings.

The old time story
of Adam and Eve,
tasting the sweet juice
of the forbidden tree.

The girl, the boy,
the fate-sealed kiss.
Star crossed lovers,
and poisoned lips.

I spin, I turn,
can't seem to find.
Each one of these
still isn't mine.

The brick road breaks,
and earth gives way.
I feel darkness leave,
consumed by day.

Feel your light touch
atop my skin.
With the sweetest kiss,
I've found it again.
