Get Rid Of The Advertisements

When in doubt Pray

On a cold rainy night, lightning flashing, like bright sunlight
Rain was pouring down, washing away everything in sight
Lightning crackling everywhere, thunder crashing here and there
Suddenly the wind roaring, shadows deep, dark danger share
Came down so fast, no time to run, must move to higher ground
Now on higher ground, perhaps we wont have to move around
Those caught in town, no place to go, the rain it turns to snow
Survival outdoors terrible at best, movement so slow
Now the roaring wind again, hoping, praying it will end
Long the days, sleepless nights, storm it seems to bring endless wind
No power, no TV, no communication, warmth we seek
The monstrous storm has gone on and on for nigh on a week
All trees are down, the road washed out, our food will soon be gone
I venture out into the storm, can find no one at home
Some homes torn up, some simply gone, all signals gone, no phone
No signs of life that I can tell, out life a living hell
Lot of people dead all about, it makes me want to wail
For two long weeks made it so far, can't even crank the car
Even if I could, roads impassable, could not get far
So far I have had to hunt for food, our animals dead
And every time that I go out, my mind is full of dread
As for now our supplied low, and there is no place to go
Impossible to move in the storm, movement is so slow
Then one morn so dark and dreary, we had grown so weary
A MOMENTARY GLIMPSE of sunshine lifting spirits high
Ever slowly came a glowing spark within the cloudy sky
My God gave me he answer, he reminded me to pray
And when I fell down on my knees, the sun came out to stay
