What Comes Naturally (Dedication)

I closed my eyes and wondered if I could see as she does. Visions were there alright, but would I be able to put into words what she does so well? As her heart and soul see what I so overlook.
I tried dressing myself with the use of one hand testing to find the results of my everyday natural things to do.
I covered my ears to drown out the sounds that each day come and go and I take so for
granted.
I hopped about on one leg (it wasn't long before that fall was broken ) trying to comprehend how difficult it is for any amputee (like my mom was) to get about doing what comes naturally each day.
I covered the dried petals of lavender that lay in the potpourri dish in our room to find that indeed I could not even detect that lovely scent.
I removed garlic, salt, and curry, from the recipe of those delicious pork chops that my hubby raves about and looking at the expression on his face as he took that first bite I knew something would be said long before I even took a bite of mine.
I fell to my knees and thanked God for each sense of my being and praised him for what I so take for granted each and every day of my life. then I said a silent prayer for those who do not see, feel, smell, taste, or hear and experience all that I am gifted with each day that I simply take for granted. I am the one who has a disability for it is I who has forgotten to be thankful for what comes naturally.
