His Last Campaign

His deathbed was his last campaign,
a story told in fits and starts;
old politician minus storm,
his deathbed was his last campaign.

Voice quavering, though smile was warm;
gone pithy quotes and fiery darts.
His deathbed was his last campaign,
a story told in fits and starts.
