Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Do it, Take a Chance

Take a chance to show others you love them, try delivering Meals on Wheels
You will be truly blessed by serving others, rewarded by the most high God
Many will make you feel as if you are the most important person in their life
And on many days, most certainly you will be that person to them alone
They know you are coming and they will greet you like the best friend they ever had
Often you will be the only person they will see on that day, take a chance
Engaging them in conversation is very important, they so need your touch
Some in need of a hug, a brief reprieve from the loneliness they feel each day
One dear young friend of mine, I met on Meals on Wheels when she was just ninety two
This week she will be ninety seven, I attend her birthday party each year
Her daughter cares for her now, I hug her and give her a gentle kiss each time
Irene is her name, a loving little black lady, loves my granddaughter so
Many will want you to sit and talk, sometimes I just make extra time for them
Your rewards will be great, even though I try to hurry, for them I take time
Most of the drivers are older, although not all, my grandchildren have helped me
It does them good, part of their education, learning how to love all people
The next time you have some extra time, do a delivery for Meals on Wheels
It just might change your life, do it for God, for yourself, TAKE A CHANCE
