Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Yearning

You don't belong here
they say with their eyes.
You are not the same
and you l despise.
You cannot belong
because you are strange.
You don't look like l do
and must be deranged.

No words are spoken.
a shoulder so cold.
The pain that l feel
must remain untold.
No one will listen
if l speak from my heart.
They smother my voice
and keep me apart.

I came from a distance
deep in the south.
My language is different
my heart is my mouth.
Though they can't hear
the words of my chest
I wish to give nothing
but only my best.

America, please listen
I wish to belong.
I will learn to speak
and sing of your song.
I only wish peace
to those that befriend.
I bring you just love
and will till my end.

I know how you feel,
that l only will take.
I will earn my way
and increase your stake.
I may look strange
but inside I'm the same.
I am not unstable
only estranged.
