Shadows In The Sunlight (Prose Write)

Each day I hand feed the squirrels as they come to our garden window. They peer in standing on hind legs awaiting me to turn that magical piece of plastic that opens the vertical blinds. Before doing so it is comical to watch their shadows in the sunlight do the most amazing antics. They bob their heads up and down and scamper back and forth across the length of the brick that holds the window in place. They chatter as if to sound an alarm (I suppose to me) that they have arrived and want to be fed. Of course I have named them all. (And some do have markings that make them well known while others, for instance one I refer to as Mo may really be a Molly. Doesn't matter to me, or to them really as long as the hand out is there for the taking. They KNOW my voice. Just yesterday while walking to the entrance door one came right up to me. Brave little soul. My hubby exclaiming ¨Would ya look at that they even know your voice¨ I usually hand feed them through the slider window their favorite foods being ANYTHING with Peanut butter, and sunflower seeds. And any mistakes I make when baking NEVER go to waste these little critters make me feel like I could put Paula Deen to shame with my baking skills as they scarf up every single crumb. Feeding time? Anytime they appear. And when I close those blinds at night when day is done I know that in the morning as I walk out into the livingroom awaiting me will be those shadows in the sunlight.
