Salt Water

The precious balm of Gilead compared,
CURE, or panacea, thus declared.
FOR saline water, whate'er be its form,
ANYTHING, administered luke-warm.
IS a single tear sufficient dose?
SALT indeed...perhaps more lachrymose?
WATER, shed on another soul's behalf,
SWEAT of brow or warmth of belly-laugh,
TEARS alleviate human emotion,
OR comfort, like a cooling, healing lotion.
THE foolish bid those mourning not to cry.
SEA pounds its fists ashore, demanding...'Why?'
