Bye-Bye Bill

He was the Youth Group president
and I the secretary,
a relationship forbidden,
dating a high school teacher? Scary!

No teacher of mine, he taught juniors,
there was no denying attraction.
We were both just children, really;
with our dreams doomed to stay fiction.

The principal, hearing a rumour,
demanded we keep our distance;
but youth group and Church still happened
...sweet kisses met little resistance.

Sadly, his sour boss heard,
must have been some gabby bird!
Bye-bye Bill.
