Me and You

In the quiet of night under moonlit sky
beneath glittering stars way up high
Walking from shadows in a moonbeam
beauty aglow silken skin agleam
The way you look playing a small part
the whole you has been stilling my heart
Dance with me Mon Cheri, my lady fair
it's times like this, the moments we share
Waltzing to the sound of violins
Holding you close truly makes me grin
Gunshots rang out, panicked I became
You fell limp in my arms, called my name
Gone just like that, I wanted to scream
Something told me it was just a dream
Rising slowly, shaken to the core
Vowing forever, no more, no more
Splashed my face as tears began to fall
Trying hard to make sense of it all
Too much wine, I should have been aware
A dream can become your worst nightmare!
