Life Happened

Once, on my way to eternity,
this event called life
occurred to me.

Born into a world fresh out of war,
incredibly poor,
ever seeking for more.

Learning to manage,
stretching the buck,
purely hard work,
unrelated to luck.

Ear-marked from the start
as one of God's own,
an old man revealed the path
to His throne.

Not much, you might reckon...
but this small event
brought light to my being,
that my life be well spent.

Every day I am given,
each day I see light,
attempt to be Christ-like,
in what I know's right.

Give a 'Jesus example'
to those who don't know
that they see His love beaming
in my life...just so!

Giving thanks to Him only
for grace beyond measure,
with a knowledge imbued
that to God, I'm a treasure.
