My Raven Haired Beauty

You came to me as in a vision, I reached out to you and you took my hand
skin soft as a silken scarf, hair black like feathers of the raven, Poe's delight
Humming a lovely melody, your voice was as if a whisper upon the breeze
It was a love song lilting softly through this valley like an echo in the night

Daybreak gleamed, in my dream, we became fading shadows beneath the sun
With those lips and that yearning look in your eyes, such beauty I'd ne'er forget
As your hand slipped from mine, the sudden abscence of your touch was surreal
Yet in my heart you remain in that soft spot I found deep in a silence at sunset!
