Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Just ME
The color of my skin isn't me
I'm not the faded jeans
Or the colorful T
I'm not the swagger
Walking down the street
I'm not the smile flashing
Greeting people that I meet
I'm not the hair
Cut in the latest style
I'll tell you who I am
If you can sit for awhile
Beneath the skin
Beats a heart
That sometimes sputters
Stalls then starts
But always true favorite part
The soul of me
The core....the spark
Is my light
When times are dark
I'm 4 parts adult
6 parts child
If I'm confessing
Still a little wild (OKAY a lot)
I'm grateful for each day I've been given
Life is a gift....just get on with the livin'
At days end....I still kneel and pray
That I held true and did it MY WAAAAAAY
