Pigmentation Of Variance

There is a variance between words and thoughts.
Words are mere words formed by multiple letters.
Thoughts are those same words put into action...
whether it be by...
poetry...
song...
conversation...
even anger, sadness, and despair
The color of words have no color, until,
a poet breathes life into them...
gives them a purpose...
a true destiny...
one that gives them a meaning to move forward.
We, as poets, chase that illusive color,
the color that breathes life into our poetry
each and every time our thoughts are
given birth upon the page
Sometimes these thoughts become miscarried...
terminated too early in the process.
These words hastily lie motionless in tattered scraps
Departing too soon without the chance to breathe
It is then we nurture those minute fragments...
We become their life vests harboring them from storms...
A lighthouse in their time of darkness...
It is then we resuscitate all of those
words hastily forgotten in tattered scraps
