Paradise Lost On Me

Would paradise, for you, perhaps be a trip to Oahu, Hawaii
with gorgeous Polynesian women dancing barefoot the hula
dressed in grass skirts, bikini tops, leis around their necks
while we feasted on roasted pig and the native poi at a luau
watching eruptions from a live volcano light the night sky
as a gentle and warm breeze whispers through the palm trees
and we'd raise our margarita glasses toasting the evening
which is only beginning for there are rose petals on our bed
two fluted champagne glasses, caviar and a jacuzzi waiting
for us to share in conjugal bliss, would this be your paradise?

For me, paradise would be you going alone, leaving me behind
so I can write my poetry!
