Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Moments in Time

Georgie sat his perch, high
on a rocky hillside
overlooking the quaint small
town of his birth.

So far his life has been a
most interesting ride
as gravity has held his mortal
soul to the earth.

Scanning neighborhoods and
shingled rooftops,
emitting intermittent puffs
of chimney smoke.

The hustle and bustle of
town folk never stops,
what memories views from
above must evoke.

He thinks of his friends who
took off for the city
with visions of finding paradise,
knapsacks full of hope.

But Georgie never felt the urge
to leave, or did he,
perhaps held back by constraints
of familial rope?

Whatever the case, he was
awash in contentment,
what was in the hearts of his
neighbors, he knew.

Each day in this burgh was another
day to be spent
loving those who are blessed
by just loving you.
