Slipping Away

Slipping Away

I see her smiles each day, as they slowly fade away
The light...that once sparkled and shimmered in her eyes,
dims silently to gray
Her steps... once proud and lite, sure and straight
shuffle in pain, more now… than late

Her mind drifts between the here and now
As each day she prays
God…
“give me the strength to carry on somehow”

Yet each day,
I watch as she slips further away

And I pray…
'God'
“give me the strength to carry on someway”
