Chapter 8

Hay Young Children of the Day

Hay young children of the day, listen to what I say;
Inside your young mind,
You know who you are; you are strong;
Reach for that star; sing your song;
Don't let the ignorant rob you blind;

Hay young children of the day, listen to what I say:
March to that different drum;
No matter the color of your skin,
Or where you came from,
Your strength and beauty lies within.

Hay young children of the day, listen to what I say;
You are valuable; no matter whate'er betide;
Like the potters clay, you are pliable;
You can accomplish whatever you choose;
With God on your side, you can not lose;

Hay young children of the day; listen to what I say;
Let your banner be unfurled;
Nothing is impossible for you;
Make your mark on the world.
Sing your song, reach for that star,
March to that different drum;
Make the unattainable, attainable;
No matter where you are from;
No matter the color of your skin;
Go, make your mark on the world;
You can win.
