Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Merle Haggard, thanks for sharing
For years I've enjoyed the music of a man who recently passed away.

Conceived within a patch of weeds, growing amidst a lawn pristine.
Is an illustration that comes to mind from the music he would often convey.

Struggling to survive the poisons spread, to rid it from this lawn pristine.
He did what he must to stay alive amidst a yard not of his kind.

He learned to fight, to steal, to beg if he must to get his next meal.
Yet he managed to find his passion for life,
with the music he wrote and the songs he sang.

He made his mistakes and paid his dues, believe me it was more than a few.
He lived his life and abused it too. Then shared his pain, pride, and beliefs;
instilling hope for so many others who felt the same, that he never knew.

He gave and received so much from those he did know.
Like Willie, Johnny. Kris, Waylon and all the outlaws of country row.

In closing I would just like to say:
Merle Haggard, God bless the rocky road that brought your music to me!
