The Skeleton In My Closet

I have a skeleton in my closet
I've heard most people do
Bet that piqued some interest,
still I can't share it with you

It's between me and one other,
and God too, for He knows all
I wonder what He thinks of me,
how far from His grace did I fall

Ever since that inexplicable day,
guilt ridden, filled with remorse
Wishing it would just go away,
I prayed and got no reprieve,
~ of course, of course ~

I doubt I'd deserve it anyway,
what on earth was I thinking
Thank God for poetry, without it,
I may have turned to drinking
