Get Rid Of The Advertisements

The End of the Pier

Feet dangling from the end of the pier
as thoughts mirror the ebb and the flow.
Lonely lips whisper words you may never hear
since your decision to pack up and go.

Moribund memories make the water seem somehow colder,
it was singularly tepid, then you came along.
Solitude is diametrically tougher now that I'm older,
our duet morphed into a solo performer's song.
