Someday We'll Be Together
Over and over I find myself playing the same song|
It's an oldie, but a goodie, hopefully it comes true
'Someday we'll be together,' now I could be wrong
Yet, when I close my eyes, I'm fantasizing 'bout you!
Time and space seperated us, so young and foolish
I can remember those mortified tears in your eyes
If I could turn around twice and then make a wish
I'd jump out of your birthday cake and say 'surprise'!
I do wonder where you are and if you're missing me
Although we've moved on from that time long ago
I become a mental wreck when I get so melancholy
I dream of you quite often, I just want you to know
Wouldn't it be sweet to pick up where we left off
Although it wouldn't be the same, we've changed
Least our parents can no longer ridicule and scoff
Tho certain aspects of our lives have re-arranged
Let's take a chance to find happiness once more
You know 'they' are yearning for us to move on
In sickness and in health, the oathes we'd swore
Expunged for they've moved to the great beyond
Don't you think it's past time for us to live again
and, at least, try to have some fun?
