There is a blue lagoon somewhere|
with beach sand of alabaster white.
When life gets too much to bear
I flee to that palm-encircled site.
There are no human sounds there
no discordant voices can be heard.
I can cast away every mortal care,
what matters is within me stirred.
Who is wealthy and who is not
never troubles my quieted mind.
Being the best merits no thought.
In this place peace is what I find.
When nothing in life seems right
when dear dreams come to naught.
I ache for respite from the fight
and seek the lagoon nature wrought.
