Tea Cup Love
As I sit here
Midnight long gone
That once warm tea cup
Stands alone now cold half full because my mind wondered off somewhere like a mountain goat roaming wildly free.
My eyes leaving it alone to gather the thought of moving it sometime soon.
Focus becomes now on the hanging pictures of my wall
Those memories captured for all time.
Funny how we like to remember what once was.
Like a comfort blanket cuddling those happy days that once were.
Only to be brought back when time allows me to remember the old.
So still I sit here
That half filled cup a few degrees colder by now I suppose
Rather than move it
Ill just roam freely
No one will know if I imagine another cup freshly made by your hands and placed lovingly aside mine.
And as you rest sweet cheeks
Millimetres from me
Entanglment of fingers joined
Heavens personally tailored glove
This surreal embodiment of a two cup love
I now have this picture in my mind
That only I can see.
An everlasting
two cup love
where you are beside me.
