Get Rid Of The Advertisements

WHERE IS APPRECIATION TO BE FOUND?

It was Ansel Adams
living his dream
built a cabin
over a forest stream
to listen to water flowing
the silence of the night quickening

Nature is full of things to appreciate,
so many wonder-filling creations to contemplate
***

after the darkness of the night
we can appreciate the morning light

after a too loud party mix
we welcome the silence of a quiet fix

after a black colored stormy sky
it's the clear blue we yearn to espy

but what is it we must endure
to fill us with
an appreciation, a sensitivity,
and a deep understanding of life?

It could be relief from a long suffering spell
once we again are feeling well
or the unfurling of a bugging problem
the great loss of someone dear
whom we find no longer near
then there's climbing one's way out of the depths
which have smothered us for months
It 's only then that we can know
true compassion, gentleness, and
feel a deep loving concern
for our fellow man.

Are not those the experiences that make
beautiful people?
