Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Before the Words Fade Out

The confluence of
complimentary words
that keeps me company
on days alone
learned to fly in formation,
much like birds,
soaring high in lyrical skies
all their own.

Though my sanity
hangs by the finest thread,
so often seeking
a way to dissipate,
the marriage of feelings
in my heart and head
forms stanzas meant to
waylay this fate.

If I couldn't speak to
the world through poetry
where sharing is
hand holding at its best,
bursting moments of pride
that still envelope me
would find stubborn barriers
they couldn't crest.

You ask what it is that
inspires this man to continue to write
and to scatter his winnowing words
like so many desperate seeds.
Creation is his partner
from early morning to night,
to its medicinal comfort he
still breathlessly accedes.
