Get Rid Of The Advertisements

The bannister

Dreams come and then go away, some to remember and some not
Some make you laugh, some make you cry, some make you hot
The pleasures of dreams flickering by, soft, warm and fuzzy
It is not always easy to remember my dreams, some a wuzzy
The spirit strong, my self so weak, in gratitude softly I speak
Do I belong, or am I just in exile, straining to find my peak
As I lay here listening for a reason, changes to new season
So give God the glory for peaceful dreams, time to reason
The night bird sings lest we forget, in quietude a wistful sound
Anticipating the spectactular, the willows sway, wind abounds
I was very young, my grandparents lived in an old two story
In this old house was a very tall staircase, I tried for glory
They all told me to be very careful not to fall down the stairs
Eventually they had me too scared to even try, I did yell
I would ride the bannister all the way down, never once fell
Then I would dream of falling, falling, but I never landed
So I guess if you never land, you will be okay, and I was glad
Just the only dream I remember from my childhood, so sad
