The Red Poppies

Image Hosted At MyspaceGens

Let the poppies be a sole reminder of those
who went before us. 'Lest we forget.'
On this special Remembrance Day,
a day to celebrate those battlefield fights.
In Remembrance of a soldier that give all from
his heart, fighting for freedom that we enjoy at last.
The red poppies to remind us of those war times.

For those whom still alive and those that died.
Thank you is not enough; God bless your heart.
Thinking of someone special and dear, perhaps,
unknown heroes not having any fear.
While fighting for freedom on your own will.
Thank you, dear soldier, for all that you have done.
I am thinking of you and keeping you close to my heart.

When you left the family and went to war,
there was no fear in your heart nor in your eyes,
going to war with thoughts in your mind to return home alive.
Now only the red poppies, a ‘symbol,’ for those gone from us.
A young man and woman went fighting with fearful hearts.
Now, poppies in bloom such a beauty and charm, a reminder
of those who died, and those that survived.
Thank you, our heroes, on this special day in time.
