Scarlet Runner Beans Cinder-Block Wall

Villanelle in Amphibrachs

I've too long used cool tones - grays, blues.
Let's choose a new palette, warm colors.
I'll try something new -sunny hues.

No more the morose - let's amuse
with a sun subtle yellow - fresh butter.
I've too long used cool tones - grays, blues.

Sun-washed summer rays, rich, perfused
on a wall full of scarlet bean runners -
I'll try something new - sunny hues.

Wild blooms through a prism of dew
the bright orange poppies of summer.
I've too long used cool tones - grays, blues.

Gold lilies, with colors diffused
through haze on a pond, half discovered . . .
I'll try something new - sunny hues.

Reds, browns, golds and yellows - chartreuse -
we'll paint gentle days, summer wonders.
I've too long used cool tones - grays, blues.
I'll try something new - sunny hues.
