Tickle My Christmas

A huge Humpty Dumpty twice the size of a goose
on a nest inside Santa's sled
It's an egg
yes of course
as its voice echoes fourth
and I swear
this right here's what it said...

'Are we there yet'

The jolly elf smiled
from his pack burst a giggle
his pat tapped the tease on the leg

'It's in the next town' Santa replied with a frown
'hope the chimney's as big as this egg'

The distance once covered his reindeer all hovered
while Santa stepped out with some hay

The egg sort of floated to a chimney so bloated
it looked nearly big as the sleigh

Like a streak Humpty lowered
but stuck
round his girth
the soot clinging thick from the brick

Inside Santa darted through a window left parted
his pack struck the floor
double quick

'Who's there'

Santa froze
but one look at his clothes
this voice
whispered

'Rogan wake up'

'What for'
Rogan yawned

'Follow me' Rylan warned
but
they tripped on the pack near the door

In haste
Santa's sack lay flopped on the floor
it squirmed but the bag was still tied

The boys pulled the cord with the pack unsecured
they couldn't keep Elmo inside

Their furry new friend dragged the pack near the tree
as Santa crawled into the hearth

He pulled on the egg then pushed on the egg
The boys helped it rock back and forth

The egg was stuck fast but old Santa stepped back
'There's only one thing left to try'

'Tickle him Elmo'

Well

The tickle sensation formed a mystic vibration
and the egg started laughing and shaking

The laughter in mirth cracked the shell at its girth
and the crack grew larger and larger

Then all in one motion like a cosmic explosion
dropped the bird
causing us all this commotion

'You could call him Mac' rose a voice from the sack
but Santa said 'you boys decide'

'He's big as a truck but he's still just a duck'
They laughed
'lets give BIG BIRD a try'

Santa
gathered his sack slung it over his back
with a grin up the chimney he rose

'On Donner... On Dancer... On Vixen... Ho Ho'
Rising up almost ready to go

From an echo inferred loads of laughter he heard
and
the echo cried
'TICKLE ME NEXT ELMO'
