Get Rid Of The Advertisements

How Much I Loved You

Ballad Stanza, to the tune of 'I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry', by Hank Williams

Among the Christmas cards I kept
in a crumbling cardboard box,
among the dusty ornaments
and the kid's old Christmas socks,

Among the crumbling memories
and burned-out tree-light bulbs
is a Polaroid of fading ghosts
of our long-lost former selves.

I never figured what went wrong -
couldn't get that right.
Just know that once-young fam'ly's gone
and I'm lonely Christmas night.

Among the Christmas cards I kept
and the broken ornaments,
I came across a broken heart
and how much I loved you, once.
