SHARED BLESSINGS

It was on a Misty Morning as I walked the fields of green
The sun was filtering through the mist such a glorious sight to be seen
As we strolled alongside the rippling brook that meandered far and wide
Just me and my faithful dog strolling by my side

I heard the call of the cuckoo and knew Spring wasn’t far away
With this in mind even the misty air couldn’t dampen my day
As gleefully my dog roared off to fetch her well chewed toy
I gave thanks for another day and the feeling of natures joy

Then my thoughts turned to the people less lucky born in another land
In places where war and starvation is all they understand
Not for them the beauty of Springtime or gardens where roses grow
Just the sounds of bombs and heartache is all these poor people know

So today as I sit by the fireside and outside snow falls on the ground
I’ll thank God for my blessings and ask Him to spread His blessings around
Ask him for peace for these people and let them know they are worthwhile
Let them share laughter with no need to hide ….behind a painted smile
