Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Winter Tableau

On this winter morning observing,
my young niece, nose pressed to window pane.
Her warm breath on cold windows steaming,
fingers tracing shapes, I'm a child again.

My attention drawn to scenes outside,
wonders I see, much more than implied.
Beauty bestowed by an ice storm's pride,
transforming the face of the countryside.

Evergreens adorned with glossy shell ,
that sparkles in sunlight glimmering .
Giant firs, transformed in winters spell,
are majestic crystals shimmering.

These strange beings, luminous and pale,
ablaze with rainbow hints flashing fire.
Encased within winter's icy detail,
they jangle in the wind, and offbeat choir.

The sunroom fireplace fully ablaze.
Brilliant sunlight filters 'cross the room.
I savour vignettes within my gaze,
sent to dissipate seasonal gloom.
