Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Dearnford Lake

Shimmering in the early morning misty sunshine
frost lingers on the blades of grass glinting in the sun.
Who would have thought back in the 1990's peace would descend
These tranquil scenes were created by road building works
Machines angrily tearing up the virgin soil devastating the peace,
taking the gravel that lay beneath to build a new road.
Chaos , noise, dust, dirt , the smell of diesel fumes,
for a few years that's how it was, slowly the scars began to heal
the huge hole left by the excavated gravel began to fill with water
and a new life and new little world was created
from what were green fields.
Now there is wildlife everywhere you look, moorhens, coots, geese,
ducks , swans, rabbits, and so many other birds.
Peace and beauty is restored , the land and water united in harmony.

A photo I took last weekend of a local beauty spot created from the aftermath of road building work,
a beautiful place to visit and stroll around the lake and enjoy a coffee in the cafe afterwards, only the sound of vehicles on the road behind is a reminder of how it was created, beauty out of chaos..
