Cowboy

One day I was a wandering
where drifting tumble weed flow
coyote were a `howlin
and rattlers were slow.

Crossing o`er the prairie
came into a lonely town
cowboys drinking whiskey
I sat my body down.

Evening passed by slowly
watched the noisy show
Cowboys boisterously singing
while barrels of whiskey flowed

Heaven was darkening
skies swallowed up the blue
`cross the lonely prairie
mountain peaks I could not view.

Darkness surrounded me
I sat `neath an old oak tree
waiting ` till morning
resting my crown upon my knee.
