WOUNDED HEART

Words like arrows pierce the heart...
Relive the painful nights.
Encapsulated tears of grief,
Hold witness to my plight.

Without the strength to carry on,
The wound will never heal.
The scars left open...bleeding loss,
Cannot the grief repeal.

The only hope a wounded heart
Can ever hope to gain,
Is not in looking back to what
Can never be explained.

To beat again with living truth,
The wounded heart must feel...
The pain of loss while holding on
To what is left...and real.
~~~
There are wounds that never heal.
