You Should Not Fear Me
You Should Not Fear Me
I see my reflection in a shimmering mirror
And think of how I'd be defined.
I am like the rain that falls from clouds,
Sometimes many or a few at a time.
I exist behind a mask of no color, no tint or hue.
Yet I am noticed when in another's view.
Sometimes I am laughter's song
Or I may be sorrow's voice.
I am the product of a heart's desire
And that heart will make its choice.
I once was found on a windowsill
One never knows where I will spill.
I know I am not perfect
And I do embrace my flaws.
I do not seek praise for my existance,
Nor accolades or applause.
But of my presence, you should not fear,
For I mean no harm... I am simply a tear.
