Get Rid Of The Advertisements

I shall always remember

I served four years in the Air Force, US another two in reserves
My future wife unknown to me worked on the second floor
First time I saw her I was on guard duty at the main entrance door
She looked at me and said you are new here, I said yes maam
She then got on the elevator and asked are you married
I think she had me hooked right there, how it carried
My granddad always told me to get the last word in, Yes maam
He said it better be Yes Maam, as if I needed him to say it
My commanding Officer wanted me to become an officer
I turned him down and sometimes I wonder if I had done right
But I will tell you what, I simply will not stay awake at night
Some things I could have done better, then some not at all
Things I should have done have not mattered since the call
I have preached, taught Sunday School, taught others, too
Never look back, look forward to what God promises to you
I am now old, not so bold, my wife is not doing too well, now
I Shall always remember the first day that we met, at the Fed
I will never forget that day we wed, and the mountain snow
Perhaps we will be able to walk up that mountain, look below
This world has changed, seems everyone wants too much for free
Slow down, pray hard, you will be so blessed, earn it, you will see
I have laughed, cried, reached for the sky, and wondering why
I will always recall the day our son died, I yelled at God and I cried
Everything is not always perfect, but with God, feel good inside
I am just a man who wonders at Gods amazing plan for man
We should all remember the sacrifice God made was Gods plan
God said Remember me, I gave my life upon the tree for thee
