Darkened Silence
Darkened Silence

The night falls surrounding me in darkened silence
And I tell myself to remember to breathe.
I cling to the hope that again I will hear
The whisper that lifts me and lets me believe.
Yes, you have traveled your final journey
For the Lord has called you to his side,
But how I wish you could have stayed longer...
Of course, by His choice I must abide.
I listen closely to the silent songs that fill the night,
The echoes of what was, the notes of what is yet to be.
I know you watch as I travel without you
And that you only want what is best for me.
Ah, now I hear that longed for whisper
And my heartbeat dances to the sound,
Filling my night with your guiding light
In this beautiful silence I have found.
