Overcoming the Dark

A feeling of utter impending gloom,
GREAT despair in shades of obfuscation,
MAN, mere mortal, fruit of human womb,
IS convinced ash to ash then hell's damnation.
A Child was born that He might be the Light,
TORCH on a hill for man's illumination.
IN God's good time, defeat to evil's blight,
THE narrow path to grace endowed salvation.
DARKNESS umbratile of the abyss,
A King arose, erasing desolation.
BEACON to illume our way is this;
IN light doth darkness stumble o'er negation.
SUPERSTITION'S evil trap to lure the weak,
NIGHT brings us not to final ruination.
AN end to doubt when Christ the Lord we seek,
INSPIRATION in His manifestation.

Quote: Robert Green Ingersoll.
