Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Heathen Ritual

Discernment; the dangerous blade,
of cutting into and cutting off,
slides into the skin of the unknown,
and invokes the drawing of blood.

Still, blood is blood,
it is all the same,
it holds life inside,
and takes it away all the same.

We dance like pagans,
ringed around a night’s fire,
acting as if nothing changes,
while the forest burns down.

Still, love is love,
it is all the same,
it gives life for life,
and takes it away all the same.
