He Can

On the edge of a dream cold days were the same to me as the warm.
Lost in the silence, spoken words as my heart and soul were torn.
To fight for rights and freedom, guarantee these to my brain.
Were nearly always happy, as the outcome was the same.

On the edge of a dream tender love, heartfelt caring, all emotions.
Lost in the silence, all I am, all there is, all things, all notions.
So now to rest this body worn, beaten, covered with scars.
To sleep peaceful and calm, beneath bright burning stars.

Lost in the silence, not a single quintessence of this man.
On the edge of a dream nothing lost, he did do all that he can.
