Wishing For Spring

They're
everywhere I look
huge mounds
of snow
is Calendar
playing tricks?
I'd really like
to know

April showers
bring May flowers
so I've been told
Yet..
winter still
lingers
with breath
bitter cold

Trees standing naked
awaiting spring clothes
Robins in shelters
with frost covering
nose

Where is the green?
pretty flowers
in bloom?
everywhere I look
are snow mounds
of gloom

Bring me
warm weather
sweet essence
of spring
sunshine
'n crocus
wearing big grins

I'm sick
of this weather
have had quite
enough
everywhere I look
are mounds
of white stuff
