Safely Tucked Away
Safely Tucked Away

memories drifting
meandering across thoughts
safely tucked away

I often think of those I've loved, family and friends, who have traveled to their last journey. Their memories drift across my present and I am so blessed to have those memories. I remember the good times and the bad times, of course, but most of all, I remember the things that made them special. I think of their quirky likes and dislikes, their humor and personalities. I remember the oddities that made me smile, like lemon wedges and red plaid shirts, a snorting laugh and whispering giggle, the bits of naughty and angelic, and the love for me that showed in every moment. How special are those memories! How blessed am I to have them for they remind me that Heaven is not so far away after all.

safely tucked away
meandering across thoughts
drift the memories
