Hurricane (Challenge)

Dolphin dreams
wash out to sea
neath murky water lay
drowning in a past tense
thoughts are held at bay

An ocean
full of turmoil
waves crashing
thru my mind
feel as though
I'm sinking
salt tears leave
me blind

Don't think
I can handle this
life has dealt a blow
suffocating seaweed
emotions lose control

Swishing round
are memories
fond treasures
deep inside
a major storm
of turbulence
as inner spirit
dies

Gasps 'n cries
entangle
can't seem
to catch my breath
loneliness surrounding
caught in sorrows
net

Hopes 'n dreams
lie buried
rest 'pon
the ocean floor
my heart now
like a sunken ship
lost forevermore

Drinking
of the aftermath
seafoam clogging
lungs
within the depths
of blueness
lie shadows
of our love

Entombed
below the surface
washed out
with the sea
are ripples
on the shoreline
where footprints
used to be

Dedicated to my Brother Denny who's ashes were blown along Beaches of Sarasota, Florida as his final wish and resting place.
