Home Brew

When pen and paper meet,
A home brewed rhyme is in the make,
A wayward muse said big mistake,
A home brewed rhyme, you'll never make,
I said to her, smile, take a seat,
Work with me, for goodness sake,
A home brewed rhyme is in the make,
When pen and paper meet.

And smile she did, in fact she's laughed,
So sure this was a big mistake,
As I rewrote five times my draft,
I lost my smile but on she laughed,
It seemed I'd never catch a break,
But on I rhymed, I must be daft,
But should one person smile at this,
It's not at all a total miss.
