My Memories
As I sit here this morning
My mind drifts back to days of old
When life was sweet and free
As I made memories precious to me.

Of a family most dear
Parents loving and kind
Children laughing and having fun
In the warmth of summer sun.

Never a worry did we share
As we played in the fresh country air
Chasing each other round and round
Or kicking an empty can as far as we can.

How precious are those memories of long ago
Now that I am in my twilight years
Silently down my face slip the tears
As I visit that time once again
Of how it was back then.
